I am loving this piece! Its narrow, its sweet, handpainted and the colors are wonderful, and it has age and subtle wear - how perfect. The cabinet comes in 2 pieces. See how the domed top has a trompe l'oeil egg and dart moulding along the edge - very cool. Below is a painted urn overflowing with grapes and leaves. The grape leaves continue gently along the sides of the mirrored door. There is pale yellow pin striping framing the door. Inside the door is a single shelf. The base has delicately painted morning glories along the top. Below is a drawer with painted floral sprigs and a shapely door with an oval painting of a basket of flowers. The door and drawer repeat the use of yellow pin striping. Check out how even the sides of the base of the cabinet have additional painted floral swags with ribbons and bows. Notice the front with the painted acanthus leaves and bellflowers spilling down the sides. The cabinet rests on tall tapered Hepplewhite style legs. The choice of colors is exceptional. The background is a blue green color and turquoise, gold, soft blues and pinks are used to accent. There is wear to the paint - the kind that is real, not faked! The original mirror has some slight spots of loss - to be expected and nothing offensive. The frame is in great condition with no breaks. Imagine this in a bathroom, in an entryway or anywhere that you want to make a statement.
