Grant Home & Thomas Log Cabin Illinois PC. This is a collection of two nice color postcards from the state of Illinois. No. 1 is of Grant Memorial Home in Galena, Ill. It is of Ellen Wrenshall Grant's Bedroom Born 7/4/1855 Died 1922 Ellen Grant was married in the White House on May 21, 1874 to Algernon Charles Sartoris of England. Furniture is original. Color photo by Henry Brueckner, Dexter Press of W. Nyack NY Pub by color-View Rockford, Ill. No 2 is The Thomas Log Cabin and on the card it is penciled in, Princeton, Ill. Although it does not state where this is on the card. It reads Henry Thomas settled here in May 1828 and the first cabin was used as a fort during the Blackhawk wars.
