A beautiful 1930's quilt in the Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern. It is made of muslin and various pieces of 100% cotton calico fabrics from the 1920's and 1930's. Each hexagon is 2.5" in size and lateral pieces are the unbleached muslin fabric. It has a cotton batting and the backing is the same muslin fabric. It is completely hand pieced and hand quilted with 8 stitches per inch. The sides are filled in with half flowers so that it has straight edges. The ends are scalloped following the pattern of the flowers. It has some light soiling from usage. This may wash out but we have not washed it to see. It is a great collection of 1920's and 1930's fabrics in the hexagons used in the flowers. Please note that the slight yellowing in the pictures is not staining but is part of the picture caused by the morning light coming in through the window shades and causing the yellowish discoloration in the picture of the entire quilt.
