Ralph Waldo Emerson once suggested the everyone should follow his or her own path. Grace Liberator has certainly done that. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Grace attended college in the hills of New Hampshire while studying studio drawing. During the late seventies she moved to Paris, worked as an Au Pair and studied in small studios on the Left Bank. Following the birth of her daughter she returned to America where she finally settled in her New York City home in 1989. After spending twenty triumphant years working in the securities industry Grace moved on to follow a different path. She now expends her energy and creativity fashioning unique oil paintings. She has studied on and off at the Art Students League in New York City since 1990. While studying there she discovered a passion for modern art, which she now attacks with vigor. Presently, Grace works on canvas with oils in a multimedia fashion. She is fascinated with the use of color and design and usually the painting takes form (sometimes realistic) through many layers of paint. In her abstract paintings she constantly works on the painting as she turns it around in circles finding a balance from every viewpoint. She seeks inspiration for her artwork from her own photography with which she captures many emotional human images.
