Extremely rare and stunning bronze cigar lighter and caddy in the shape of a viking ship manufactured by Gorham & Company. The ship's hold has a removable tray to carry the cutter and any snipped-off cigar tips. The dragon's head has a wick and does, of course, breathe fire! The head and neck are removable for refilling the oil reservoir. The wheels move, allowing the lighter to be rolled along the table. The details are magnificent right down to bronze ropes on the sail and the scales and fangs on the dragon. Origin: America, 1852-65. Size: 7" long; 8-3/4" tall. Condition: all its original parts are in working order; polishing the surface is at the discretion of the buyer.
