Gorgeous 1930's Magis Roma Lenci Type Felt Cloth Doll - Italy

This is an amazing doll! She is a pressed felt hand painted Italian doll in excellent condition by Magis. She has a cloth body with stitched fingers and jointed legs. The legs are jointed by a metal apparatus as shown in the pictures.

She is wearing removable felt shoes and socks. Her hood is black felt and also is removable and her hair is rooted mohair. Her outfit is a combination of a felt jacket, Moire silk fabric red dress, and a silk or taffeta pinafore. She also has a crochetted collar and sleeve trim. Her pinafore has felt flowers sewn along the bottom along with a cable trim design.

She is holding a woven basket of velvet flowers in straw. She is also wearing a stiff cheese cloth type material slip under her dress and underwear. All of her outfit details are beautiful. The dress does show some wear from age such as sun fading on the back and light faded areas in the creases of the pinafore which are hard to see, otherwise it's in great condition with no staining or tears. Her face is amazing!

She is hand painted with oil paint to such realistic details right down to the white dots on her eyes to give her that sparkle in the eyes. Her lips are two tone lip color of a darker pink for the top lip and a lighter pink for the bottom lip. She has very fine painted curly eyelashes a light shade of blue for eyeshadow and thin painted eyebrows perfectly located above her eyes.

Her face is made of a pressed felt to give her that realistic look just like a Lenci doll, however she is not Lenci but is a Magis Roma doll from Italy which were very well made lenci type dolls.

Her hair is blond with two braids drawn to the back of her head giving her a Sweedish or Bavaraian look to her which is what she may possibly be as she does look like one of the International dolls.

She measures a little over 10.5" tall and still has her Made in Italy foil tag affixed to her pinafore. She apparently had a tag on the bottom of her right shoe as there are remnants of what may have been a paper label.

I'm not sure what she is stuffed with, but it seems to be possibly straw or sawdust as when you squeeze her you can hear a slight crunching sound of straw or sawdust. She is stuffed very tightly and has no stuffing loss or holes at all.

This doll is so amazing and realistic that the pictures just don't do her justice, she is a must see in person and would be a perfect addition to any Magis Lenci Type or International doll collection!
