Glass Sterling Silver Platter Flowers Butterflies 19C
Description: Pressed Glass Platter with Floral Decoration in Sterling Silver, Probably Made in Late 19C by Unknown Manufacturer. The platter is circular with a scalloped rim. It is decorated with an allover pattern of impressed lozenges and applied sterling flowers and butterflies . The flowers and stalks are wispy and flowing. The well has acid-etched grapes and leaves. "Sterling" is stenciled in four places on the floral decoration. A very pretty piece. Dimensions: 1" High, 14" Diameter. Weight: 3-1/2 lbs. Condition: This piece is showing its age. The glass has many small surface scratches and the silver is tarnished. There is a 9" patch where the silver is blackened. It should clean up nicely with a little TLC.
