To a three piece girandole set of candlesticks of American origin c.1856. Known as "The Capture of Major Andre." This set is signed, "Patent Applied For" It is mounted with snowflake period prisms. The set retains the original gilt, which is in fine condition. A similar style example can be seen in plate #233,234a,234b,234c,2334d The catalog for "Starr Fellows & Co. #74 Beekman St., New York" in the book titled "19th Century Lighting" by H. Parrott Bacott.
