Giorgio Ferro Anse Volante Blue Glass Vase

Unavailable

This is a fabulous example of Ferro's Ansa Volanti line of handled vases he created for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.VE.M.) around 1950. It has no noticeable scratches and no losses or visible cracks. There are flea bite chips and scratches noticeable on the underside, consistent with age. This line of hand-blown pieces is distinguished by its deep, rich colors, shimmering iridescent surfaces, and handles pulled from the surface (not applied), which leads to a unique one-of-a-kind sculptural effect with each work. We also have a smaller work by Ferro in the same color and style, and a two-handled vase in red as well. Literature: Marc Heiremans, Art Glass from Murano 1910-1970, Munich, Arnoldsche, 1993. Dimensions: 16" H X 6" W X 2.5" D (40.6 cm H X 15.2 cm W X 6.4 cm D). ( za- murano italian venetian )
