This fabulous sterling silver dresser or cigar box features green and black enamel decoration, a neoclassical nude female scene on top, and engraved designs on the sides. It measures 5.75 by 4 by 1.75 inches (13.3 by 10.1 by 4.5 cm) and weighs 1 lbs. 5 oz. (608 g, 19.5 troy ounces). Inside has a sterling "925" impressed mark and another mark which has not been deciphered. We suspect this item dates from the early twentieth century or possibly earlier. Virtually all of the original gold wash on the exterior has been worn away, but the enamel decoration is in very good condition and the gold wash on the interior is intact.
