This rare and important design by Gianni Colombo (Italian, 1937-1992) is known as the Gea lamp and was produced in Italy by Arredoluce, circa 1970. Measures approximately 5.5 in (14 cm) in height, width and depth. It accepts a 25 watt bulb and features a sliding window to direct light from front to rear. It has its original cord and plug for the Italian electrical standard, but may be used in the U.S. with a plug adapter as shown in our images. (Adapter shown is not included..) It is not working. We will be happy to have the fixture serviced professionally prior to shipment to restore its proper working order. Condition is good. There are a few scrapes and nicks, but no visible cracks or repairs. A Gea lamp, also white, was sold at auciton for $7,500 by Phillips de Purry & Company in New York on June 7, 2006, in lot 214.
