Lovely hand painted porcelain figurine of bulldog in naturalistic colors - white, brownish black, blue and gray. Well modeled, nice sharp detail. MINT condition. Blue underglaze mark : Graelenthal? above a crown in half circle and GDR. I believe this mark stands for Carl Scheidig Porzellanfabrik, which was later nationalized and named VEB Grafenthaler Porzellanfigurinen. GDR stands for (no more existing) German Democratic Republic, which makes this figurine very collectible... Size : 6-1/2"L x 5-1/4"H, Germany circa 1950-60.
