This is a very nice 19th century hand plane called a horn plane because of it's front handle. This one came here to the USA from Europe. It's in nice clean condition with some of the horn handle chipped off (shown in the pictures), appears to have happened many years ago as it is worn fairly smooth now. There are a few hairline wood splits that don't go to the outside, so the plane is in good working condition as well. The cutter is sharp and ready to work. The steel is marked "OTTOKA SKRIVAN PRAG GARANTIE". The maker's mark is very nice, the wood has a nice patina. A well taken care of plane with less than average wear!
