German Halberd, Early 17th C

Unique style featuring 3-pointed axe blade, twin curved lugs, and curved beak with
stamped maker’s mark; the head with remnants of etched design. Diamond-section 14"
spike with turned baluster at the base. Later straps forged to the head, mounted on
tapered octagonal hardwood shaft, with turned base (minor worming). Light pitting and
age staining to metal surfaces. Length of metal 30 3/4", overall 90 1/4".
