This bronze by Vaulx (French, 19th Century) depicting George Washington in military attire measures 18.5 x 12 x 7 inches and is stamped 424.  Provenance:  Charles E. Sigety (1823-2014) and Millea Bros. Ltd. Sigety was a renowned collector of Americana. Christie's sale of 89 works from hi collection on June 12, 2015 generated a total of $1,666,000. According to Mileas Bros., this is believed to be one of two castings in existence, each of which were once owned by William Washington, and comes from the collection of the Godefroy Mayer, the dealer of paintings and engravings based at 41 Rue Blanche in Paris who was known for his collection of Americana. Condition is very good, with rubbing, scuffs and scratches, and loose arm.  Item ha-2112.
