George Hunzinger Three Piece Parlor Suite

Fabulous three piece walnut Victorian parlor suite signed “Hunzinger NY Pat March 30 1869″ (see photo of back leg). This suite has a construction of round fluted turnings. Each piece features extensive open carvings – including grapes and leaves , carved finials, applied buttons, original brass castors and hoof feet. The identical suite is shown on page 181 of American Furniture of the 19th Century by Eileen and Richard Dubrow (photo in book is pictured here). Hunzinger is recongnized as one of the most innovative furniture makers of the period. His unique designs are sturdy and attractive. This is one of his most creative and fancy patterns. The fabric is old with some stains but still usable. An important museum grade suite of signed Victorian furniture! Circa: 1870 Dimensions: (sofa) 45″H x 66″L Finish: Good polished original finish and patina. We had some of the buttons professionally restored.
