For sale is a very lovely vase made by The Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington, NJ. The Vase is done in what we call a "Grecian Urn" or Classic Style Vase. It is done in one of Fulper Pottery's most beautiful glaze combinations.
The Vase depicts a beautiful Gloss Cream Colored Flambé Drip Glaze over a Gloss Chinese Blue under glaze. The Glaze combination is Superb and considered to be one of Fulper's finest. The Glaze Drippings and Runs are just wonderful as you can see. This Classic Greek Urn Shape will work with most decors. The piece is solid and has good weight.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. It has several small glaze pin pops and is quite common with Fulper's Glazes. The Vase is signed on the underside bottom with Fulper's Incised Racetrack Signature mark. This would date this Vase to be made Circa 1916-1922.This is a real Popular Shape with the Fulper Pottery Collectors and was known as shape number 537 in the Fulper Catalog Pages. I don't see this glaze combination to often and it appears that the collectors are hanging on to these beauties.
This is a wonderful example of this Form and Glaze from Fulper. This would look outstanding on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts style Bookcase. I'm quite sure the Buyer will be extremely pleased with their Purchase.
