FULPER, BLUE FLAMBE VASE, BUTTRESSED HANDLES, RARE FORM

For Sale I have an outstanding Arts and Crafts Influenced Vase made by The Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington, New Jersey. The piece is a Buttressed Handled Vase and it is done in the very Popular Blue Flambe' Glaze. The Stepped Vessel has 2 wonderfully applied Buttressed Looped Handles giving this piece that added Arts and Crafts, Mission Style. There appears to be a hint of their very famous Blue Crystalline Glaze as the under glaze just inside the Handles. One of the things that I love about this vase is the way the Blue Glaze drips off the bottom of the squared off handles. Kind of giving you that feeling of being in a Limestone Cave with the Stalactites Hanging from the ceiling. The top of the Vase has a Gray/Green Gloss type glaze. It appears like the piece was just painted one time around with the Glazing Brush as this Glaze is softly applied. I have been a collector-dealer for almost 31 years. I have sold hundreds of pieces of Fulper. I have never seen this nor can I find any documentation on this form what so ever. I should be able to comfortably state, This is a Rare Form!! The Vase is considered to be in very good condition as the only issues is a small professional restoration along the bottom edge. This is almost invisible to the naked eye. This is a wonderful piece of Art Pottery in a very desirable Shape and Color. I would have to consider this piece for the Advanced Fulper Collector. The piece is signed on the bottom with Fulper's Racetrack Oval Ink Stamp with the Fulper letters being Chinese in Style. Thus it would date this to their 1922-1928 production range.
