Cast brass hilt featuring single faceted quillon with button finial, the knucklebow attached to the plain olive-form pommel. Separate downcurved guard with applied brass eagle and small counterguard. Wood grip with original twisted brass wire wrap and ferrules. Diamond-section straight 30 ½" blade engraved with Manufre/Royale de/Klingenthal one side and Janvier/184(?)3" other side (worn and faint). Blade with light pitting, otherwise very good condition. Overall length 36".
