Gold gilded brass hilt with wooden grip and down turned shell guard bearing Ancient Roman's armor, shields and swords, dragon head, banners and the Roman lictor's bundle of rods tied around an axe (the Latin word for a bundle is fascis-a common symbol for a I Empire ). A straight single edged blade with fuller and spear point. The blade is etched with martial trophies and panels of foliage. 37 1/2 inches long(95 cm).
