A vintage gilt metal female figural lamp depicting a beautiful angel or fairy holding a letter in one hand a perched bird in the other, standing bare foot on an out cropping with a flower blooming a wonderful signed quezal pulled feather iridized gold to green shade with an iridized gold interior. The sculpture is has its original tumbler light switch, is raised on a plinth mottled rogue base with a name plaque titling it "Messagere Par Aug. Moreau" which translates from French into "The Messenger by Aug. Moreau". Perhaps the bird brought the letter, or perhaps the fair is using the bird to dispatch the letter either way this a wonderful piece of signed sculptural lighting lighting with period signed shade that is in pristine original undamaged condition. This lamp would make an impressive gift or addition to any fine household or collection.
