Smaller gilt 19th century bench or stool expertly hand carved. The gilt on this little bench is a darker more subdued tone as opposed to a shiny gilt. Handsome carving along the slight rolled arms and scrolled apron with carving on all 4 sides. Acanthus leaf carving seen at the knees and cabriole legs with escargot feet. Has been reupholstered in tightly woven taupe burlap with gemp trim and cording atop in a soft rust and blue tone with taupe. New springs and padding,crowned high for extra comfort. Excellent condition with a wonderful patina to the gilt. Measures 25L X 27H X 20W.
