19th century French gilt hand carved elegant bench with sturdy construction.The original gilt has a wonderful patina to the eye with bits of the red base showing beneath and in grand condition. New extremely thick springs,padding and taupe tightly woven burlap upholstery with taupe,black and deep red gemp trim to leave as shown or cover with a fabric of choice. Acanthus leaf and other fine carving seen on the scrolled frame with larger carvings center front on both sides. Additional along the slightly rolled arms,knees of the cabriole legs and escargot feet. Very comfortable to support good weight and size to accommodate any room size. Measures 46L X 20D X 27.5H.
