This tall, figural, Art Nouveau period clock was made by the highly respected French maker Henry Eugene Farcot, Paris. The bronze looking sculpture displays 2 women proudly holding a staff or flag and standing among an anvil, iron wheel, etc. The scene depicts the importance and rise in industry. Look closely and you will see the top of the staff or flag is missing. The castings are crisp and well executed. The gilded brass bezel houses a porcelain dial and an exposed escapement which are all in excellent working condition. The clock retains its original working movement and pendulum. There is an appropriate working brass key. The clock case is in excellent condition retaining its original finish. What a statement this will make on any mantle or in any home.
