Beautiful French walnut hand made and carved Directoire day bed from Lyon France. Originally a baby bed and comes with the other turned spindle railing same tone and hand rubbed gorgeous patina finish if desired to use this way. Connects with the original thick sturdy bed bolts attached as well. Has the double walnut slots on the back that held the rod and parasol canopy over the crib. The canopy in bad condition and was removed. A thick foam seat cushion and two bolsters upholstered in denim blue,pink and antique white stripe. The very talented craftsmanship carving on each rolled side displays several half shells with a diamond shape in center depicting a footed urn with interior centerpiece. The workmanship unsurpassed with a buttery smooth feel to the deep walnut. Excellent condition,extremely sturdy. Measures 57L X 37H X 25D to end of bolster.Actual bed 24W with seat height at 18 inches from floor.
