19th century square French hand carved gilt coffee/cocktail table has deep oyster shell and leaf carvings on the deep scrolled apron surrounding the four sides. Additional acanthus leaf carving covers the knees of the cabriole legs and escargot feet. Minor wear to gilt as expected with age yet in fine condition. The original top which was probably marble long since broken, has been replaced with new antique mirror which has small gilt designs matching the table and cloudy background of mottled grey and off white design, reflecting more subtly than a clear mirror. Is attached to the table top,not removable. The sturdy table could also be used as a low side table. Excellent construction. Measures 19H X 26.5L X 26.5W.
