French Bronze Sculpture of Two Dogs After Thomas Cartier

This wonderful bronze sculpture of two dogs after Thomas Cartier (1879-1943) is in fine condition.  Measures 5.75" tall and 10" across (14.6 by 25.4 cm).  Born in Marseilles, Cartier studied under Georges Gardet and is known for his models of hunting dogs and other animals.  He exhibited at the Paris Salon starting in 1904 and thereafter throughout his career, winning an Honorable Mention medal in 1908 and Gold Medal in 1927.
