Freedom's Journal, March 30, 1827 Vol. 1 No.3 of the first African-American owned and operated newspaper published in the United States. Published by Samuel Cornish and John B. Russwurm. The Journal was published weekly in New York City from 1827 to 1829. Original issues are extraordinarily rare and nearly all are owned by institutions. This is rare early reprint that was published in 1891. Framed in an early 20th century frame with new mat board and archaival quality backing. Frame measures 15.5" X 12.5"
