Frankoma Pottery was founded in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in 1936 and continues to produce their well known line of pottery products today. In 1968 they produced the first GOP Elephant Mug in honor of the Republican party, in 1975 they produced the first Donkey Mug in honor of the Democratic party and have produced both of these mugs each year since. This mug is from 1974, it is 4" tall by 5" long (at the longest point), it is marked with the Frankoma hallmark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition, no chips and no signs of use. The earlier mugs such as this one are getting harder to find, it would be an outstanding addition to your collection!
