Ford Needles and Nails First Watch Tools Ad 1944 This is an August 22, 1944 advertisement. It is a nice color ad from Ford Motor Company. Ad shows a young boy working on watches at night by lantern light. Young man is Henry Ford. He mended his first watch at 14 using a shingle nail, tweezers made form a corset stay and a pair of knitting needles. Years later, the watchmakers touch and the creed of precision learned by Henry Ford in those winter nights were to guide the building of 30 million cars and trucks. Interesting information in this ad. In excellent condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad. This original magazine tear sheet measures 10 1/4 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches tall.
