Ford Motor Company In The Ford Kitchen Ad 1944 this is a October 1944 advertisement. It is a nice color ad from Ford Motor Company. Shows a picture of set up for principle of internal combustion engine. Reads, It happend in the early 1890.s. In the kitchen of his Detroit home Henry Ford was testing a principle for the internal combustion engine. His apparatus, clamped to the kitchen sink, was a piece of one inch gas pipe, reamed our for a cylinder, the flywheel, a handwheel from a lathe, gasoline was fed from an oil cup. A wire connected to the kitchen light furnished the spark. He spun the flywheel. Flame came from the exhaust, The sink shook and the trial engine was running under its own power. In excellent condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad. This original magazine tear sheet measures 10 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches tall.
