When people heated with coal stoves, those stoves were removed in the summer to be polished and cleaned for the new year. While some people used tin to cover the flue hole, others used scenes and portraits. Here is an example of one showing a lady with pink flowers. It is in excellent condition, but has been marked on the back with a felt pen REAL OLD. This is a nice item from yesteryears.
