Very pretty late Victorian jardiniere - nice small size, with flow blue and white pattern of poppies, highlighted with gilding. Maker is probably Burgess & Leigh (Staffordshire). The mark is entwined B & L, with the pattern name "Bute" underneath. Registration number dates it to around 1900. Jardiniere measures 16 cm high and about 18 cm diameter at the top (6.3/8 inches by 7.1/8 inches). Some marks in the inside bottom including a glaze flaw and some minor internal-only crazing.
