Five Stratford Silver-plate Grapefruit Spoons These five silver-plate grapefruit spoons were produced by The Stratford Silver Co. The spoon handles are elaborately engraved with a floral design. The elaborate decorations and shape of the spoon indicate that these grapefruit spoons were produced during the first half of the 20th century. Due to the thickness of the handles and the depth of the design, it appears that the design was accomplished by an applies process. Markings: 1 spoon is engraved "Stratford Silver Co. AXI" on the back of the spoon handles. The other four spoons are engraved "Holmes and Edwards XIV". The two patterns are identical. Condition: Excellent (The silver is not scratched nicked or pitted. There is a little wear on the back of the spoon bowl where it rest against the table. The spoons are strong and very utilitarian). Featured in Suzeattic at www.goantiques.com
