First Lady Francis Cleveland Tricora sunflower Corset Advertisementin frame

Unavailable
I have never seen one of these before and can not think that this was sanctioned advertising as it is difficult to believe the first lady, let alone this one, would be advertising corsets! Francis Cleveland, as one can see from the picture, was the youngest first lady ever, during her first term. She was born in 1864 and married in 1886 in the White House. Her husband was 3 decades her senior. She was quite attractive, and tall, and somehow Tricora got her on a corset advertisement. The advertisement and frame are married and the ad was cut to fit this oval frame. The oval walnut frame is probably 20 years older than this 1880's-1890's advertisement. There is a small tear on the righ of the petals of the sunflower, which I have pictured.
