A fine old box type wooden butter mold which we believe to be the half pound size. This butter mold box is constructed with 2 long hinged sides and 2 removable short sides with pins to stabilize and design stamp at the bottom. A metal bar goes over the top to secure the mold. This piece appears to be very well made with quality hardwood. The design mold has cherries on one side and a branch of leaves on the other side, nicely detailed. The cherries design has a small crack as shown in the photo. Box measures 7 5/8" x 3 3/4" x 3 1/2" tall. Design block measures 4 5/8" x 2 3/4". A wonderful old butter mold that makes a great decorative piece for a country kitchen.
