FF5045 Gilt Marble Top Pier Mirror

We are pleased to be offering this wonderful period gold gilded heavy floral carved marble top pier mirror to you today.  Dating from the 1860s to 1880s, this mirror offers a fantastic look in as-found condition.  Some of the lemon gold has worn off and faded into the bronze color on the deep dish molding that follows the Victorian style frame with the fancy floral carvings in the bottom corners.  Note the unbelievably carved crest on top with the clamshell center and beautiful pierce carved outside designs with floral carvings on the base.  The lemon gold is very obvious here and there through the entire frame.  There are is some damage here and there that is typical of these old pieces, and we will do our best to have our master craftsman touch up as well as he can before shipping.  You do have to understand that a plaster style frame that has been around for over a century that it will not be perfect, but we’re sure that most people who would be buying this piece would already expect that.  The pictures are good about showing the problem areas, so be sure to check them out!  The overall size as it sits on the marble top base is 38 inches across (which is the size of the marble and the mirror crest), 13 inches deep on the base, 3.5 inches deep on the mirror frame, the mirror is 93 inches high, the marble top base is 17 inches and the pieces together are 110 to 111 inches tall.  The size of the looking glass is 23 inches wide by 71 inches high.  This has a fantastic period look.  You can see that someone had screwed a screw in the top to hold it in place on the wall, and other than that there are just minor age cracks here and there.  The overall condition on the plaster is really very good—be sure to look at the lemon gold highlights and the bronze finish where it has worn over time.  It is simply stunning.  The base is unbelievable with all pierce carvings, floral leaves around and cabriole type legs.  It will cost $485.00 to have this item crated and shipped to your home.
