Nicely carved crest above caned seat and back with turned arms ending in reeded legs. Newly upholstered seat and cushions in the Federal style. This piece is a centennial version (circa 1900) of popular form and style crafted in New York in the late 18th and early 19th century. The cane seat is in perfect condition - it is tight and has absolutely no breaks. It appears as if the cane seat was restored in the past 50 years. Structurally solid and very well designed. Measuring 57 3/4" wide by 21" deep by 36" high, this overall size is very hard to find and very desirable.
