This is a lovely antique English ceramic biscuit jar, biscuit barrel or cookie jar made by an unknown maker 1920-1930s with a wonderful period design of what are known as fantasy birds that resemble fancy pheasants. The jar itself is a graduated peach bloom color. The biscuit jar measures 7 inches high without handle, 6 in diameter and has EPNS silver plated fittings. The biscuit barrel is in very good +++ condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few very minor surface scratches and almost no crazing. What a lovely jar to keep your tea biscuits in.
