This is an extremely rare walking stick. This piece is a breech loading 28 gauge shotgun with a detachable shoulder stock. A very similar walking stick is featured in the book by Catherine Dike entitled " Canes in the United States, Illustrated Mementos of American History 1607-1953", on page 365 on the bottom right. This piece features matching serial numbers on the shoulder stock and on the cane itself. Ammunition for this piece is still readily available. The overall length is 34" and with the shoulder stock attached it is 47". The shoulder stock itself measures 12.875" x 4". The handle/pistol grip measures 4" and the receiver measures 5". Very, very rare walking stick, almost one-of-a-kind!
