Exquisite etched & cut glass glass Biscuit Barrel with alternating panels of etched ivy and cut stars. The lid is stamped "Elkington". Traditionally Biscuit Barrels would be be the elegant receptacle for the biscuits (similar to American crackers but sweeter) served at tea time. As the tea services became more elaborate and ritualized, more elegant the Biscuit Barrels were needed. We currently have a collection of over 100 Biscuit Barrels - ranging from the traditional cut glass versions, to ones with elaborate etched designs, rare colours and unique designs incorporated in wooden barrels. We release only 10 to 15 or so at a time. Please contact us in you are looking for something in particular. Biscuit Barrels make great wedding presents, elegant display pieces for marble collections of marbles, match books and even have been known to store Christmas ornaments!
