This is an English sterling silver and crystal wine decanter from the Victorian era, made in London, 1868. Atop the hinged-lid sits a finial in the shape of a lion rampant holding a shield engraved by the crest of the original owners. Both sides of the decanter, as well as the top of the handle, are engraved with a Bacchus head, while the crystal body is covered in tiny starbursts. The decanter is approx. 11” tall.
