English Secretary Desk
English secretary slant front desk made of burl walnut. The top bookcase has two doors and two of the three shelves are adjustable. The lower slant front desk has a stunning interior with 8 cubbies, 11 drawers, one center door, two side slots and a embossed red leather writing platform. The chest has five drawers in a 2 over 3 configuration. The front of the secretary is embellished with burl walnut and banded walnut. The columns on the chest are fluted and the base feet are carved and shaped in a OG style. The fronts of the drawers and slant platform has a wide inlay band and delicate chevron double banding. The balance of the exterior is in highly figured walnut which reads very well. This is a very well made piece of English furniture that has age and is considered a revival antique reproduction. The patina is beautiful and the finish is French polished throughout.
