This is a ceramic pot lid by James Kent of Longton, Staffordshire England depicting Crossing The Brook from a painting by Turner. This was produced in the 1950s as part of a line of pots as a tribute to great British painters. Pot lids were originally made as the covers of jars or pots of various substances from salves to food stuffs. It is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. Very attractive and collectible!
