Wonderful tall pitcher in the Aesthetic Movement or Japanesque style with a basketweave band around the bottom, all-over leaves & an Oriental lattice design over the mottled saltware-type background. Nice Oriental-like scrollwork in a band around the top. Pewter remnants remain in the 4 holes bored into the top rim that once held a pewter lid. The bottom is marked in brown "1464 H" & "B.P.Co. Tunstall England." Also impressed into the bottom "BPCo". Very clean! Dark brown on the raised Orienta-like lattice is not glazed so "bumped" in a few places. The bamboo-styled handle is fabulous! This pitcher would be like new if it still had the lid.
