English Country Oak Table

Antique English Arts & Crafts country table made of solid oak. This table is of exceptional quality and craft. The entire piece is made of thick cuts of figured oak and it is all pegged throughout. If you are an Arts & Crafts collector or fan  then this table may be for you. it is the best one I've owned and I've had a few nice ones over the last 20 years. The table has a three board top and pegged top to cross boards underneath. The base is a three piece A frame on both sides and the center section. There is also a cross stretcher to fortify the lower base of the table. There are also cross boards under the top which adds strength to the top. This is a muscular piece of furniture with great styling and presence.  

Currently I also have a few sets of English oak chairs that could be married and fit in well with the table.  The table is very heavy but fortunately disassembles into two pieces. The top can be removes from the base to transport the piece practically. I would guess the table weighs about 200 pounds. The graining of the oak boards are highly figured and there is great character to the timber. The patina is rich and the finish is just beautiful. I wish I had a place for this piece in my home because otherwise I would keep it for myself.
