English Inlaid Coal Bin

Unavailable

Antique English inlaid coal bin made of rosewood with brass gallery & handles. This piece has exquisite inlay work on the front panel top and sides. The panel inlay is very intricate and precise and features two dragons and numerous scrolls throughout. The top of the piece features a center fan inlay framed in a double pencil inlay. There are two handles on either side and a center handle on the opening front panel and a brass gallery on the back top area. The coal opening is all wood and would be good for storing kindling, small fire tools or magazines. This piece would also function well as a side table. The rosewood is highly grained and French polished. This is one of the finest coal bins I have every had available for sale in my store. It would be a great addition to any fireplace or just as a cherished little side table. It's truly a little jewel of a piece dating from the mid 19th century.
