Brass boxlock marked LONDON one side and T REA other side in engraved oval. Thomas Rea was active in London ca. 1798-1822 (working with his brother John from 1811-1822) making primarily flintlock screw barreled pocket pistols and holster pistols. Steel sliding top safety, frizzen, cock, and trigger guard. Round screw-off 2 1/4" brass barrel of approx. .45 cal., with border engraved muzzle. London view and proof marks on bottom of breech. One-piece walnut slab grips with shallow dents and vice marks. Nice mellow patina to brass, minor rust marking on steel. Mechanics very good.
