Brass boxlock engraved with stands of arms and “LONDON” one side, “SHARPE” other side. Sharpe worked in London from about 1800-1840 and specialized in brass barreled flintlock pistols. Tapering 1 11/16" round brass barrel with twist design. Birmingham view and proof marks on underside of breech. Folding steel trigger. One piece ebony(?) grips with 6 notches carved on one side, showing use and wear. Steel parts with minor rust marking, but generally smooth. Brass a mellow gold color with shallow dents, markings worn but readable. Lacking sliding top safety. Overall length 6". An attractive and desirable little gun.
