English Barley Twist 1/4 Sawn Tiger Oak Welsh Dresser
This English Barley Twist Quarter Sawn Tiger Oak Welsh Dresser, circa 1920, is quite a striking piece. Constructed out of beautiful quarter sawn tiger oak, the Welsh dresser has a lovely curved design on the gallery top and along its sides, a beaded design on the drawer and door fronts, and elegant barley twist legs that support the Welsh Dresser with much elegance and add just the right finishing touch. Cut-out grooves appear in the gallery top shelves so it is quite easy to display plates, and with the drawers and cupboards below, there is plenty of storage space. An added bonus is that the Welsh dresser disassembles into two pieces for easy moving. The English Barley Twist 1/4 Sawn Tiger Oak Welsh Dresser has a paneled back, paneled sides, the original decorative hardware, measures, 76.75 inches H X 48.00 inches W X 18.00 inches D, and is in the original finish with appropriate wear for its age. And although the Welsh Dresser was first intended for kitchen use as storage space for eating and serving utensils its artistic lines have brought it out of the kitchen and into the living or dining room. The potential for display and storage is endless.
